on myspace, you can choose whether you want to display your sexual orientation. to do this, you have to go to the “lifestyle” section (....................................wow), and choose from “bi,” “gay/lesbian,” “straight,””not sure,” or “no answer.”
also in the lifestyle section, you get to choose your “marital status.” (.....wow). your choices are swinger, “in a relationship,” single, divorced, or married. you can only pick one, and you have to pick one.
as if i have to say it, these choices are a representation of our society’s indoctrination of european/christian/patriarchical values. notice how, if you’re a swinger, none of the other things can apply to you. you can’t be a swinger who is married, or a swinger who is in a relationship, or a divorced swinger. is it implying that any combination of these is impossible? i think it is. i think it’s saying that if you’re in a relationship, you couldnt possibly be a swinger, because that would be wrong. i think it’s saying that being divorced determines who you are as a person, and your romantic interests dont really matter anymore. it’s saying that if youre in a relationship, or married, you and your partner shouldn’t be looking for other people to be intimate with. it is implying that “in a relationship” is enough to explain the nature of your connection to someone youre really close to, as if there weren’t MILLIONS of different ways that you can be in a relationship. you can’t choose between “in a relationship with someone i plan to be with for the rest of my life,” and “in a relationship for now.” (by the way, the reason for that is because if you plan on being with someone for the rest of your life, youre supposed to get married, because you’re religious.) why only have one choice for “single?” (why use that term? why can’t you choose “i don’t think of myself as half of one person who needs another person to be whole.”) why can’t you be “single, but not by choice,” or “single, and enjoying it?” also, remember that “single” and “swinger” are mutually exclusive, you can only choose one. if you’re a swinger, you’re not really single! youre in a relationship every night? what the fuck? why can’t you be “single, but there is a person who i can go to at any time and they will be my soul mate and make love to be and give me everything i need.”
why the choices? why is it a multiple-choice question with only one possibly answer? why doesnt it include “separated,” “widowed,“ ”annulled,” or even “engaged?” why not include “cohabiting?” why not include “fuck buddy?” why not include “i have sex with my friends but we’re not romantically involved?” or “we are soul mates who are going to be together for ever but we’re not getting married, so its more than just a relationship, but its not marriage.” why not have a text field so you can enter your own “marital” status? what im saying is that myspace is designed in a way that implies that when someone looks at your profile, they can determine something about your life or your character or your personality by looking at the answer to that question....or at the least, myspace implies that when people look at your profile and see your marital status, they should react the same way to everyone who has this status....everyone who has the same status as you is in the same boat, everyone who picked the same answer out of the 5 possible ones has a similar “lifestyle.” bullshit. this shit is making us think of human connections, which are THE most amazingly profound experience of being a human being, as a 5-answer multiple-choice question. holy shit.
so....after you define the nature of the connection between you and the person you love by answering a multiple choice question, if applicable, you move on to the next “lifestyle”(wow) question: sexual orientation. i’m gonna take a break from writing to try and figure out where to begin telling you about the MANY things that are wrong with this.
(taking a break.)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
k, i still don’t know where to begin. myspace asks you what your sexual orientation is, and again, you can only pick one, and again, you can only pick from five answers.
Sexual Orientation: [ ] Bi [ ] Gay/Lesbian [ ] Straight [ ] Not Sure [ ] No Answer
defining sexual orientation like this is ethically AND SCIENTIFICALLY erroneous. in other words, NOT ONLY IS IT WRONG, IT ACTUALLY DOESN’T MAKE SENSE. sexual orientation, in terms of “bi/gay/straight” does not exist, because gender does not scientifically exist. it is a social construct.
let’s say that youre a man who has thought about it long and hard, and has decided that youre “straight.” let’s say you are looking at a picture of a really sexy woman, who is wearing a long, fancy dress, who you would definitely be attracted to if you met her. you like looking at this picture because its really pleasing to you (since you have decided that you’re “straight,”). okay. now check this out....you are attracted to this person while having no idea whether they are male or female. the woman in the picture could be biologically male. you do have SOME evidence for thinking that she’s female (her hips and chest are larger than her waist, she has soft facial features, she has a small-framed body), but you do not have enough evidence to know for sure, or to even claim that she is. you cannot claim that you are attracted to the opposite sex. all you’re attracted to is our social construct of what being a woman is, in other words, what society thinks women should all look like. you COULD say that you are attracted to femininity, and therefore you are attracted to really feminine men (like in the picture). therefore, you would not be attracted to women who are not feminine enough for you, and you would be attracted to men who are very feminine. but maybe since youre masculine and you like femininity, maybe this qualifies you as being “straight?” nope, still doesn’t work....because femininity is socially subjective. by this i mean, different people have different ideas of what femininity is, and different people are attracted to different aspects of femininity. a lot of people think that being “soft” or “submissive” or “passive” is feminine, and they might be attracted to this. but other people (like me) would argue that this has nothing to do with femininity. there is no evidence that females are more naturally passive than males. i don’t equate that with femininity. i equate it with what our society decided women are like. some people think that innocence is feminine, and they are attracted to this. cool, but lots of other people, including me, would disagree. i don’t associate innocence with femininity, except in the sense that patriarchal society tells us to do that. this is my argument for why “straight” or “gay” don’t exist. people cannot decide who they are attracted to in such large, blanket groups, and your sex/gender cannot be used to predict what or who you will be attracted to. it’s just too complicated.
but then there’s the argument from “nature.” males and females will be attracted to each other because they are naturally hard-wired to do so. i only sort of believe this. i believe that human beings have pulled off the greatest hack of all time in their social relations. every one of us a is a brilliant hacker who has taken our biology and done things with it that the manufacturer had no idea could even be done. we’ve taken our parents’ turntables and made hip hop with our relationships. let me explain....
check this out. we are hard-wired to want to have lots of sex. boom. story of our lives. other stuff gets in the way and distracts us, and some of us need it more than others, some don’t need it very much, some need it all the time, but pretty much all of us have some kind of biological desire to have sex. having sex fulfills our natural horniness, fulfills our desire to be as close as possible to another person in every way, and give us babies. nature (evolution) has given us some sweet equipment to do this with (except for the whole balls thing....we really needa figure out how to improve on it. horrible design.). evolutionarily, the people who have had the most babies were the people who were attracted to the opposite sex, had good, strong penises, good, healthy vaginas, and used them for tons and tons of doin-it. so....makes sense that we would evolve to be attracted to the opposite sex, right? WRONG SON. we, the brilliant hackers of humanity, have found a way to do what we want and get what we need at the same time. we are creative and have realized that we can get what we want without the things we don’t need. penis-vagina sex is a really big deal in a lot of ways. yes, females ARE naturally attracted to the experience of getting fucked, but that doesn’t mean they’re attracted to males. it means theyre attracted to penis-like objects and sex-like activities, and SOME women are attracted to having this experience with males, and SOME women are not. we don’t necessarily need the opposite sex to get what we want anymore. we have figured out other ways of doing so. some males have discovered that other males, along with dude-ass, can fulfill their spiritual and biological needs, respectively.
what im saying is that the idea of nature making us “straight” is wrong. nature doesn’t make us “straight,” nature just made us end up in a place where being “straight” got us the most babies. males don’t naturally need females in order to fulfill their desires. they just need to be sexually stimulated and to feel closeness. out of the many ways that there are to do this, the one that produced the most babies was to have sex with a female. that’s all it means. nothing else.
we are computer hackers that have found a way around the firewall of penis-vagina sex. we are hip hoppers who have realized that the “plan” that society has for us is bogus, that the circumstances we find ourselves in can be changed, can be made better, by ourselves, who have taken the turntables of hands, fingers, dildos, and asses, to do what we want, to get what we need, regardless of what we are “supposed” to do.
chances are that most people don’t even know what or who they are attracted to. they feel that they are supposed to be attracted to the opposite sex, or they feel that they are supposed to be attracted to people in good shape, or people with clear skin, or people who are good with language, and are maybe confused as to why sometimes they do not feel fulfilled by these things. the lucky ones will come to the realization of some of the things i mentioned here, and perhaps they’ll realize that they’re attracted to people with big bodies, or theyll realize that what they are attracted to is the concept of a human being, which would mean that they could be attracted to anyone they meet, or maybe what theyre attracted to is something like confidence, it turns them on when people are comfortable with themselves, or maybe someone is attracted to tall-ness, or short-ness. a lot of males, in fact, ARE attracted to hips and butts and titties (boom son), and a lot of females ARE attracted to big muscular dudes with no body fat. that’s cool, but what are the odds that we are ALL attracted to the same thing depending on what genitalia we have? that just doesnt make sense. even men who are totally convinced that they are “straight” will admit that they like certain features more than others. “i’m more of a butt man than a boob man.” reality check homeboy, what if you don’t like boobs at all? maybe you don’t.
the human experience is an amazingly epic phenomenon that came from millions of huge coincidences that all happened in the same universe. people who want to keep us in control, in fear, in dependence of them, convince us that they have this allll figured out. boys should look a certain way, girls should look a certain way, boys like girls, girls like boys, girls can make out with girls if guys are watching but guys can never make out with guys, guys have a natural desire that girls shouldnt have, girls should only have that desire to please their man, or to make babies. people who do not follow these rules are officially “weird,” or they live an “alternative lifestyle,” or they are just doing it to be rebellious, or our entire society is going to fall apart and people are going to rape kittens if we let them be themselves. fuck all that. fuck myspace.
wait, then there’s that whole pheromones thing. hmmm......i guess everything i said was wrong. shit. oh well. |

| twilight rant |
[Jun. 11th, 2007|11:33 pm] |
[middle of the night rant i decided to post today]
if i hear one more motherfucking authority figure say that people with my ideals lack discipline and don't believe in personal reponsibility, im going to show them exactly how disciplined ive been up to that point.
you know how much discipline it takes to walk past a dozen people who are advocating genocide? a dozen violent...pieces of wood.... hardly even people....who see no problem with families being forced to live in sheds.....who think that taking responsibility for your family and risking your life to help them is equivalent to not having any personal responsibility.....and seeing these pieces of wood given the resource of the media to spread their message.... you wanna know discipline? the fact that their picket signs remained intact after i walked by them shows how disciplined i am. the fact that i do not advocate their extermination when they advocate slavery shows how disciplined i am. personal responsibility? discipline? FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND PEOPLE IN WHITE T SHIRTS WITH NO REPORTS OF VIOLENCE, WHEN CONFRONTED WITH A SOCIETY THAT SEES THEM AS RATS AND A POWER STRUCTURE THAT SEES THEM AS ECONOMIC UNITS?? DISCIPLINE? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? where the fuck is your dicscipline? where is your free market? i don't see it fuckin anywhere. i dont see free enterprise, i dont see capitalism, or democracy. you know they can't give us capitalism in terms of schools because they need a boot camp for cubical life. and how many people would send their children to employee boot camp for their entire childhood if it cost money?! socialism and limits to capitalism are indeed convenient when implemented the right way. i guess there is no capitalist discipline....except for us maybe.
we're not disciplined enough, we're not responsible enough, al gore and the rest of the liberal capitalist class tells us that we shouldnt have driven so many cars, now we are responsible for drowning polar bears! HEY MOTHERFUCKER I'M SURE THAT CORPORATIONS LIKE APPLE COMPUTERS, THE COMPANY WHOSE BOARD OF DIRECTORS YOU ARE ON, HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH POLLUTION AND GLOBAL WARMING. it wasn't the ruling class who told us to drive cars, it wasn't the oil companies who systematically ensure that only gasoline-based transportation is allowed in our society, it's all OUR fault! we should be ashamed of ourselves for not having any discipline or personal responsibility. if you wanna STOP being the sole cause of global warming, just buy an oil refinery, a plastic factory, an industrial manufacturer....then all of a sudden YOU'LL get to be the one yelling at poor people for causing global warming! oh wait, you can't buy any of those things, you have to be born into the right family. oh well. have fun watching videos of polar bears drowning and knowing it was all your fault.
personal responsibility doesn't exist if there's no limit to how much money you can spend on lawyers. and there's only one kind of people for whom there is no limit on how much they can spend on lawyers....and it's not us
"personal resonsibility" only exists if you can't get away with what you do.
here's a thought: isn't crime legitimized? if there are laws and punishments for not flollowing those laws, isn't the system saying it's okay to commit a crime, because there are punishments for those crimes? like, it's totally okay to kill someone if you're willing to be executed for it. isnt that what follows from having punishments for breaking lawS? i bring this up because, say youre really, really, rich, and the system says "go ahead and commit a crime if you want, because youll be punished for it if you do," while AT THE SAME TIME the system says "...but this also depends on which lawyers you can afford." this little asterisk IS PRETTY MUCH SAYING that rich people can do whatever they want, if you agree with the logic chain.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ do the syntheses in hegel's dialiectic define a move toward greater unified TRUTH or greater unified PUBLIC OPINION? if it's truth, then:
let's say the two theses in a dialectic process are
1.) hegel's philosophy of the dialectic (i.e. "hegel is right.") 2.) a philosophy that directly contradicts hegel's philosophy of the dialectic (i.e. "hegel is wrong."
...these two would conflict and then unify in a synthesis, which would mean that part of the resulting greater truth would include at least a little bit of "hegel is wrong," however, THE TWO IDEAS DID IN FACT CONFLICT AND SYNTHESIZE, which would mean that HEGEL IS RIGHT....
IS THIS POSSIBLE? COULD HEGEL BE WRONG (because at least a small part of "hegel is wrong" is included in the synthesis) AND BE RIGHT (because the dialectic process ended up happening) AT THE SAME TIME!?? WHAT!!??!? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

| What would it take? |
[Apr. 28th, 2007|09:13 pm] |
what would a man have to do to a woman such that it would result in most of society agreeing that it was wrong of him to do so?
if a man walked up to a random woman on the street and harassed her, raped her, and then beat her to death, and it made it into the news, and it was posted in a really popular blog, people would literally post comments saying something like "well, we don't know exactly what happened in the situation! let's not jump to conclusions...i mean....she WAS wearing a short skirt....and maybe she said something offensive to him!! you people are just man-bashers!"
sonoma county police have murdered four people in the last 3 months. and the reaction of the general public to these murders has been exactly like what i said above. "well...i mean....he DID act aggressively towards the cops! what were the cops supposed to do???"
uh, that's like saying that if a kid is harassing you and then breaks into your house and he's obviously fucked up on drugs, that the first thing you should do is shoot him in the chest four times.
oh wait, that's exactly what happened to my friend in Cloverdale.
throwing things at his face or shooting him in the legs would not be enough, of course. (evidently, this was the conclusion of the official investigation of this incident, because the shooter was not blamed for the death.)
when is it okay to kill someone?
when is it okay for cops to kill someone?
what is the purpose of cops?
what is their role in society?
what are the reasons for and intentions of cops reacting to something somebody does?
would you shoot someone who was being aggressive towards you?
is that the best thing to do in situation like that?
is that the best thing to do in a situation where you are covered in armor that is not penetrable by a shooting bullet, you are armed with a beating stick, pepper spray, and you are trained in dealing with violent situations?
and the person you're dealing with is mentally unstable?
how aggressive should someone be to be considered an immediate threat to the cop's life?
what would a police officer have to do to a person to result in a situation where the majority of people generally agree that it was wrong?
obviously, shooting them is not enough. what would it take?
to assist in giving you some perspective while pondering this, here is some news footage of a scenario in europe. after watching this footage, ask yourself,
what would santa rosa police do in this case?
what would these cops have to do to the protesters if the logic of sonoma county police was valid?

some people joke around that the public isn't going to do anything about Bush until the day he eats a baby in front of the white house.
uh, what makes you so sure? MANY people probably said at some point, "people aren't gonna get off their ass until dick cheney shoots an old guy in the face with a shotgun!" ....and then this actually happened and nobody really cared.
or, to use another example, some people say that the reason they want to expose 9/11 complicity is because if the american people knew that their own government had killed 3000 of its own citizens, and lied about it, they would wake up and take arms! and do something about it! these people fail to realize that the bush administration has killed more than 3000 american citizens in iraq, and they knew that this would happen, and they lied about it, and they lied to the people who would die and told them that it was absolutely necessary for them to go there.. this leads us to the conclusion that
the american public knows that the bush administration has deliberately and unfairly killed more than 3000 of its own citizens and
there is still no significant anti war movement in the US. sorry 9/11 truth activists, it seems that your mission is hopeless after all.
what the fuck would it take for people to stop believing the bullshit.
what the fuck would it take for people to stop defending the lies that they have been indoctrinated with but claim to have stopped believing? would you shoot someone who is acting aggressively to you? THEN WHY THE FUCK IS IT OKAY FOR A COP TO DO SO?
i am not going to make any assumptions about the poor old guy whose house got broken into, but would my friend still be alive if society didn't constantly insist on defending an authority's violence?
what would it take for hip hop heads to stop being apologists for misogyny?
what would it take for NEO-NAZI GROUPS (THERE I SAID IT, MINUTEMEN ARE NEO NAZI GROUPS, DEAR MINUTEMEN: HI, THIS IS VIKTOR FRANKL SPEAKING, YOU ARE FUCKING NAZIS) to stop getting airtime? to stop being considered "the other side of the debate?" (more importantly, what would it take for fucking democrats to be considered the "pro-immigrant" side?)
the US government has killed so many iraqi civilians that if i took the time to look up the official number i would collapse onto the floor and start crying and not be able to finish this post. this is not enough incentive for people to stop their daily lives and be committed to helping someone other than themselves, so what is?
do 30 minutes of research of US history and youll see why the anti immigrant sentiment in this country shows blatant signs that inevitably WE AS A SOCIETY ARE GOING TO REGRET THIS SOMEDAY. but this is still not enough for people to get off their ass and do something.
there are like 500 ideas, points, subjects, sentiments, arguments, and non-sequitors in this post, sorry about that.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
may 1st is a pagan holiday and is also international worker's day (look up may day on wikipedia) (the rest of the world gets that day off, and it was a result of workers fighting for it, not like labor day, which is a day off that the government gets to choose, and not only that, we have to deal with all the fucking propaganda bullshit.) and many things will happen in santa rosa, starting at 11PM at the ex-albertson's parking lot in roseland.
-people from all social groups will refuse to go to work and school -there will be an immigrant solidarity march and rally -the minutemen will be there to protest it (i was thinking about dressing up like the klan and marching with them, but i have better things to do) -there will be people training people about their rights when dealing with the cops -there will be people actively watching the police to make sure they don't do anything they're not supposed to do -there will be privileged people ready fight and be arrested in case the cops attack the immigrant population, because some people have the privilege of facing trivial consequences for this while the undocumented population faces deportation. (this is less likely to happen now that the organizers attained a permit for the march). -there will be many groups, ranging from liberal democrats to anarchists, in open solidarity with the oppressed immigrant population. -there will be a rally afterwards with food, music, speakers, and community groups. -there will be mothafuckin 10,000 people openly expressing that the anti immigrant sentiment in this country is morally unfounded
in other words, this is a good chance to "do something." there are many others. contact me if interested.
haha, kinda like that book where someone puts out an ad that says "teacher looking for pupil, must be interested in saving the world." |

"when i hear white people talk about 'reverse-discrimination,' i want to punch them in the face, and say, 'no, THAT'S reverse discrimination."
i laughed so fucking hard and everyone stared at me. |

| art |
[Mar. 20th, 2007|11:30 pm] |
responses to requests from my last post are on their way, i promise. in the meantime...
--------------------------------------------------------
maybe the defining characteristic of being human, if there is one, if you believe in something other than evolution, is the ability to create or understand art.
i think there is no such thing as good art, or way of judging art because it is such an abstract concept (redundant?). i think art is creativity itself, and creativity exists as a mental process, and so i think art is simply a mental process, as opposed to the commonly held opinion that art is the manifestation of creativity.
you know how artists are always lame, annoying people? one of the things that they do that is so annoying is that sometimes you say, "wow, this art that you made is amazing," and they say, "no its not, i hate it, its so bad"? whenever im in this situation (as the appreciator) i always think to myself, oh okay, nevermind this is a terrible piece of art. art is a mental process, and if it is true that that the artist does not like their work, then the work is not what i thought it was; i thought it was a manifestation of the artist's mental process, but if the artist doesn't like it, then it must not be a manifestation of what the artist wanted to create with their mental process, so it ceases to be a good piece of art, because when i thought it was good, i was under the impression that it was a representation of what was going on in the artist's head. in other words, how can the artist be good if their art was accidentally good? i just HAPPENED to like it, but they didn't even intend for it to be what i saw it as, therefore, this thing that i think is beautiful is just something that I appreciate as art, and it has nothing to do with the artist's intentions and mental process, therefore the artist did not create something beautiful as far as i'm concerned.
here's the kicker...if the artist didn't create what i think is beautiful (because their mental process didn't purposefully make the piece of art that i like, since it was just an accident), then the beauty that i see in it comes from ME, which means that i am really the artist of that piece. the artist is saying that this particular piece is ugly, that they hate it, but i like it, so as far as i'm concerned, they have bad taste, but i understand the beauty of it, MY MENTAL PROCESS (which is art) is CREATING a piece of art from this meaningless thing that this artist created which we have concluded is not their art.
this is one of the reasons (there are many) why intellectual property laws (the things that make it illegal to download music) have no foundation. art is a mental process. essentially, art is the mental process of deciding that something is beautiful, as long as that decision is not arbitrary. if i hold up a big picture frame with nothing in it, (so you can see through the inside of it to the other side), and within the frame there appears to be something, like the wall or grass or a car, and i decide that this is beautiful, then i have created a piece of art. i have derived, from a mental process, that this is beautiful, and the creativity lies in the fact that i have deemed this beautiful. therefore, should i be allowed to copyright this? should i be allowed to copyright the things that appear to be within this empty picture frame? can you copyright your opinions on whether a girl is hot? how is that different from making music? you are making a creative mental decision that this person is art, and this opinion may differ from other people's opinions. therefore, your unique creative decision that this person is beautiful is a mental process that can only be described as you making art. how could you copyright this? why can you copyright music? THE TRUE WAY OF COPYRIGHTING MUSIC WOULD BE TO NEVER SHOW IT TO ANYBODY ELSE, because every time you show your music to someone (assuming they are an artist, as most people are), you THINK you're showing them your art, but ART IS A MENTAL PROCESS, therefore you're only showing them this heap of stuff.... at this point, the person creates a piece of art (a mental process) and much of the time, this person may create the same piece of art that you did, in other words, they may think it is beautiful for the same reasons you do. if that person likes your art for the same reasons you do, they have created the same piece of art that you have, it's just that your skeleton, brain, blood, skin, feet, hands, or whatever, happened to be the body that manifested it. so if i download a song because i think it's beautiful, i may have NO IDEA whether the artist thinks it's beautiful, and the artist probably doesn't know the reasons i'm downloading it, so how can they tell me that i'm stealing their art? i'm CREATING art (mental process) when i'm listening to their song, and they have no idea if i like the song for the same reasons they do, so i may be stealing MY art, not theirs. this is much more likely to be true if i'm downloading music from major labels, because the intentions of the artists are obviously not my intentions, and therefore i am not creating the same piece of art they are creating, i am creating my OWN art. for example, if i download a song that was created just because that artist wanted to make money, then art isn't even involved, so how could i be stealing it? i'm not copying intellectual property, i'm copying a particular sequence of ones and zeroes that happened to be sitting around the internet somewhere and i just picked it up. it's not like somebody's profiting from me or the song. a book that costs absolutely nothing to copy, you can just copy it by snapping your fingers, and it is sitting outside everyone's house ready to make a copy of itself whenever you snap your fingers, and this book is created solely to make money, and the publisher itself put that book there....we are breaking the law if we take it? what kind of moron wouldn't take it if they liked it, if even to just teach the company a lesson?
however, if the artist has real artistic intentions instead of only looking for money, even then i am still not stealing their art, because they have no idea if i am going to create the same piece of art in my mental process that they did. for example, if i'm downloading a stupid misogynistic rap song that has an amazing beat (this has been happening a lot lately), I AM NOT DOWNLOADING THE ARTIST'S ART. I AM DOWNLOADING MY ART (MY MENTAL PROCESS). the artist liked their art because they like misogynistic lyrics. that is their art. their work of art consists of music and lyrics. MY work of art consists of creating beauty from the music. it does not consist of intellectually associating the words with social concepts (it doesn't consist of me recognizing that the lyrics are sexist). my work of art may even consist of assigning beauty to the way the words are SAID, without having to associate the words with social concepts. i am downloading the song for a different reason than the artist thinks i'm downloading it for. they have no idea what reason i'm downloading it for. and because of that, they have no idea whether i'm stealing THEIR art.
perhaps this means that hip hop is the most significant form of art, because hip hop music that uses sampling from other songs is the only kind of music that openly admits that art is a mental process, like when DJ HAVOC listens to old european classical music and he hears the streets of new york, whereas the original composer hears rich white people. they are creating different pieces of art. different mental processes. DJ Havoc doesn't listen to the misogynistic lyrics as social concepts, he just hears the ill ass beats of Bach and flips them and ignores everything else, thereby creating his own piece of art. Bach has no idea what Havoc's intentions are, and therefore cannot tell Havoc that he is "stealing" his art, because havoc is not stealing rich white people or misogynistic lyrics, he is stealing the streets of new york and having Prodigy rap over them.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
notes:
-yes, i realize that most artists who say they hate their work are just being phonies and they're only saying that because they need to hear you say "ohh, noo, what are you talking about it's amazing!!" one more time.
-i don't really think artists are always lame, annoying people...obviously.
-i think it's important for artists to give credit to those who have influenced or unknowingly taken part in the artist's music. i'm not much of an artist, but i would never want to "own" intellectual property in the sense that i would want laws enforced to keep people "out" of it. however, i would like credit if my art was used by someone else, or i would like it if people mentioned me as an influence.
-i don't think non-human animals are capable of art.......are they? |

| immature rant #359 |
[Jan. 27th, 2007|01:43 am] |
im taking a stupid fucking online class on "information literacy." they only call it that because they wouldnt have been able to get away with "grownups desperately trying to cling to any shred of their outdated world they can grab because they're afraid of change 101." essentially it's a class that teaches you how to look for things in the school library. i'm reading the first lesson, THE FIRST LESSON, SECOND ITEM, and right there, it tells me what i've been waiting to read since i first signed up:
"The accessibility and abundance of information found via World Wide Web makes it tempting to use Internet sources in lieu of using a library. Unfortunately much of the information that is found on the Internet is (...) unsubstantiated..."
this is similar to the more-familiar "YEAH? YOU BELIEVE THAT JUST CAUSE WIKIPEDIA SAYS SO? THAT THING IS SO WRONG. EVERY SINGLE TIME I'VE LOOKED ON THERE (never) I'VE SEEN COMPLETELY INCORRECT FACTS. I SAW IT ON CNN SO OBVIOUSLY I'M RIGHT, YOU STUPID YOUNG NON-OLD IDIOT DUMBASS FUCKFACE." that we're used to hearing from our parents, but in more sophisticated language.
the next section goes on to educate me on the Dewey Decimal System and The Library of Congress Way of Labeling Shit.
"Subjects are divided into 21 general knowledge areas, each of which are assigned an arbitrary letter. For example:
P is Language and Literature Q is Science.
The general areas are divided into specific subject areas after that. For example:
PS is used to group books on American Literature QH is used for books on Natural History"
WOW! that is the most efficient and clear way i can think of to organize information. how did we manage to not learn that as kids? it's so easy.
the next paragraph reads: "maybe in the future someone will develop some kind of technology that allows people to store information in very, very small spaces, and then all the small boxes of information will somehow be interconnected...like....in some kind of network....allowing anyone with access to the box to see the information stored on another box, maybe even in a different country! but until that day, we must strive to pretend like anyone who believes in that is too stupid to actually publish correct information. for, as we all know, the only good information is that which is stored on dead trees, and which is very difficult to correct in case of an error, and after the error is corrected, everyone who relied on the incorrect information must somehow be notified that there is a new version. also, information is only reliable if it is written by a college professor and it happens to be available at the school library. you can't trust anything else!
how stupid am i supposed to be? GEEZ!
what's more reliable... the biased, selective research of one historian stretched out over a huge subject matter, or the biased, selective research of millions of different people around the world fact-checking each other on a very specific subject? the answer is, of course.....whatever old people are used to.
reasons why i'm only kidding:
1.) there are probably some good books in the school library.
2.) computers require destroying the environment, pollution, factories, workers, bosses, capitalism, and are totally un-sustainable.
3.) wait, school libraries probably require all of that too.
4.) activists haven't figured out how to build computers from scratch yet.
HOWEVER....
1.) eventually all information will be online. and one of the biggest obstacles keeping us from trying to achieve that is, of course, greed.
2.) if you see an error on wikipedia, use your energy to correct it instead of yelling at kids for looking at it. there are worse things that kids do that teachers let them get away with, and teachers are complaining about kids looking at AN ENCYCLOPEDIA??? sheesh.
3.) the school library is fuckin full of computers! ha

| Meow meow I love my kitties =( |
[Dec. 26th, 2006|05:02 am] |
i have two cats. ......i "have" two cats. .......my family "has" two cats. that is, we brought them to our house and now we make sure they stay alive. why would we do such a thing? well....for some reason, most likely social but i'm not ruling out the possibility of neurology, we think they're "cute." it makes us feel good to see how they look and behave, and it kinda reminds us of how human babies look and behave. they are funny, cool, beautiful, and soothing. they also feel cool. petting them calms us down, it's fun because we're interacting with another life form, and also they're warm. they're also fun to play with sometimes. it's like a video game but much more real...you manipulate the toy and the cat reacts to it. you can even run around the house. and for me, at least, they bring joy just because i know they're good people, and i like being around good people. i've always loved cats, they're one of my favorite aspects of life. so, those are the reasons for "having" cats.
scientists tell us that purring means they're happy, and certain things make them purr. we avoid the things that make them stick their claws out, hiss, and fight. so we try, at least, to make sure they're happy. but....
what right do i have to "have" cats? we didn't ask them if they wanted to come with us, we just took them. we didn't ask them what kind of food they liked, what kind of toys they like, whether they like being inside over night, whether they're okay with peeing and pooping in front of other people. we don't know for sure if they liked to be petted, or what kind of petting they like best. when i don't have other stuff to think about, i start thinking about "my" cats. if my life was like my cats' lives, i would hate it. imagine eating the same shit everyday. every single day, water, and that cereal-looking-ass shit. and if you go outside, there's these BIG FUCKIN ROCKS that roll on four smaller, round rocks and make A LOT of noise and smell bad. and people get in and out of them. and they move really fast sometimes. and we must live on a mountain or something, because, besides this small area with plants, somehow this really big area we live in is all covered in flat rock.
my cats must be thinking that life is unfair and stupid, and wondering what the point of being created is. they were created, they went through a lot of confusing chaos, and now they're at the mercy of these scary looking cats who are really big and walk on two legs. and worst of all, the only other person who looks like you is this random stranger who you were forced to live with, who seems to have many of the same habits. how can i live with myself knowing i'm putting my cats through this? it is very likely that they'll never have the experience of running in a field, chasing butterflies, climbing trees, chasing rabbits, catching lizards, digging their own holes to poop in, meeting other animals. my cats were born into slavery, and even if they were free, they were born on this huge, never ending mountain top of flat rock that has the crazy lifeless rocks that roll around and carry people. they have no idea that they can escape this, and even if they did, they wouldn't know where to escape to. how depressing their lives must be. they can't even understand how they were created in the first place, because they never create babies. they've never seen baby cats being created, they don't know how it happens, and they will never be able to do it themselves.
i love my cats. how the fuck can that be true? i'm their slave master. they can't run away, they'd be at the mercy of the giant moving rocks, and there's no trees to hide in. they're stuck in my plantation, earning me the profit of the comfort they provide. it's not fair.
it's a good thing, then, that humans aren't slaves.
are we here for the pleasure of others? were we asked where we wanted to live when we were born, or are some of us stuck in one place? do we get to eat whatever we want, or are we stuck with eating what we can pay for? do we get to choose all our entertainment, or are we limited to what is "legal"? are we allowed to roam freely, or are there imaginary lines that we must abide by, even though they're the result of wars that we have now all admitted were unjust? is there anywhere to live to get away from cars? from civilization? from stores? from the bigger people who decide our fate, who boss us around, who decide what we can and cannot do? are we allowed to experience everything that we are supposed to experience, according to how nature has evolved us?
my cats attempt to retain as much of their instinct and nature that they learned from their mothers in their daily lives. they clean their eating area although there is no mess, they stalk before pouncing although there is no grass to hide behind, they sleep all the time although they do not have to preserve their energy because they have a guaranteed regular meal, they are territorial even though their survival doesn't depend on it, they practice their hunting techniques although they will never need to hunt.
do we strive to live in groups, to help each other survive, like our ancestors who we owe our species traits to did, or do we alienate each other, compete with one another, try to get away from people and be alone? or do we interact with people for the wrong reasons? for material gain, or for some other immediate personal pleasure? do we get our food from our surroundings, as our ancestors did, or do we wait for others to give it to us for the price of our COMPLETELY arbitrary labor? do we eat food that our bodies evolved into needing, or do we eat things that give us pleasure, or that are convenient, that are processed in ways to maximize production, ways that require the harvest and murder of millions of lives which you know damn well are just as sentient as cats?
do we have the freedom to do what we want? to think what we want? to feel how we want? or are we limited by laws, which prevent us from doing what we want, encourage us to think a certain way, and therefore dictate how we feel? are we encouraged to be curious about the world, and to create new ways to help us survive, which is THE defining trait of our species, or are we told that there's only one way to ensure our survival? do we value education for children because we want them to be familiar with the world they live in, or do we value it because it makes them really good at listening to their bosses when they go off to work? do we value work because we believe that everyone should be part of the effort to make society work, or do we value it because we are told to do so as a result of the completely artificial "work ethic" doctrine created by european church powers? do we strive to be happy, or do we strive to appear happy? at the end of the day, do you really give a shit what your shoes look like?
at the end of the day, do you really give a shit what your shoes look like?
as far as we know, cats can't have self awareness or inner dialogue (but we may be wrong). but we can. we should look up at the people who keep us alive (the ones who have control over the guns), and check to see if they are keeping us alive for their own pleasure. not because we're cute or furry or warm or funny, but because we work their plantation. cats can't fend for themselves against human civilization, but we can. otherwise, what is the point of being created in this shitty society?
hm....i thought that articulating all this would lead me to my conclusion of why i'm justified in having cats. but it didn't.
i'm sad. |

| The turbine is on whenever the bike is moving. You can't just hover. |
[Nov. 9th, 2006|01:29 am] |
lately, i have been hanging out with the intellectual elite. the kind that make inside jokes about 19th century russian anarchist philosophers. and then i go, "heh!....yeah....totally......dimitri storskavinsky....haha....good one.....i totally get it!....." =/
hanging out with smart people is totally bizarre. one of the most weirdest things about it is that none of them went to high school, so some of them have no idea what 90 percent of people in the united states are like....this may be purposeful (they don't give a shit, they're going to do what has to be done, the average american can help or they can keep being ignorant assholes and work themselves to death), or accidental ("the revolution is coming!! everyone i know is an anarchist, pretty soon the whole country will be behind us!"). i'm one of the only people who was enough of a dumbass and/or wuss to go to high school for four years, so i have a unique perspective on things. uh....dude.....don't use the word "capitalist." it automatically makes you a stalin lover who wants to overthrow freedom and make everyone wait in line for tortillas. TRUST ME, i went to high school. that is what most people are like. even the word "revolutionary" is more public-friendly because it brings images of the founding fathers and of rage against the machine.
i'm not judging on whether it's a good or bad thing, i'm just saying it's pretty weird. when the fuck did you have time to read all those books? somehow between the ages of 20 to sometime in their mid twenties, all these people i hang out with have read every book on history and political theory that exists. mathematically, it requires that they must have read one book a day for a whole year. they are learning machines. and here i am PAYING for classes so i can learn about one or two books in 6 months. gives a whole new meaning to the term "intellectually lazy."
there is a certain way that smart people act. it's weird, every smart person is really, really nice. and the smarter they are, the nicer they seem to be. and they try to convince you that they aren't really smarter than you, and they're so smart that they DO end up convincing you, until later when you remember that they've read 365 primary-source books and you go "damn, they tricked me, i'm not really as smart as them."
everything i'm writing right now is totally immature. haha. i'm not really serious.
smart people all listen to alt rock. why is that? oh yeah, that's another thing, all smart people have heard every single public enemy and the clash album ever and know every song by memory. and they all USED to like RATM, back when they were ignorant middle school kids, but now they're past that. =(
smart people would never write about how they're smart and how that makes them different, cause smart people would know that's a childish way of looking at things and people who think that way are spending their time talking about this bullshit instead of trying to be what they think they aren't, smart.
smart people think run dmc is funny, and they listen to it and laugh, instead of realizing how fucking awesome it is and how mind blowing it was when it first came out, and how it's actually really good even by today's standards. eh....i over did this whole smart people thing, it was just a joke. what else to write about.......hm.....oh yeah...elections....ironic, every time democracy is being exercised in the US, we are getting orders barked at us. HAVE YOU REGISTERED? ARE YOU REGISTERED? YOU WANT A REGISTRATION FORM? ARE YOU GOING TO VOTE? MAKE SURE YOU VOTE!!! HOW ELSE ARE WE SUPPOSED TO MAKE SOCIETY BETTER?!?! WHAT BETTER WAY IS THERE TO CHANGE THE WORLD THAN TO CHECK A BOX EVERY 2 YEARS!??!? I CAN'T THINK OF ANY BETTER WAY!! GO VOTE!! THERE IS A CANDIDATE FOR EVERY POLITICAL THEORY!! REPUBLICAN OR DEMOCRAT!! THAT IS THE BEAUTY OF AMERICA, YOU GET TO CHOOSE! YOU CAN CHOOSE DEMOCRAT OR REPUBLICAN, WHICH REPRESENTS THE ENTIRE SPECTRUM OF POLITICAL THOUGHT!! THE THING IS, THOUGH, YOU HAVE TO VOTE RIGHT NOW, BECAUSE THE WORLD'S EXAMPLE FOR DEMOCRACY HAS DECIDED THAT YOU ONLY GET TO VOTE FOR SEVERAL HOURS DURING A FUCKING TUESDAY. AWWW, YOU'RE POOR? YOU CAN'T GET OFF WORK ON A FUCKING TUESDAY MORNING!?? TOO BAD, YOU SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN A BETTER JOB.
south park. there, i said it. voting episode. stan gets exiled for not wanting to vote. i knew i had to mention it, but i didn't want to. there, let's move on.
who the fuck is voting republican? are there really that many rich people?
to all my asshole friends who moved away to college: i will gladly welcome you back when you drop out. i'll introduce you to the smart people. just watch me to know which jokes to laugh at. i'll show you the titles and authors of the books that we have to pretend like we've read. when they get into a heated debate about emma goldman's theories, we'll go off in the corner and talk about TV shows. we can get some converse or vans slip-ons and tie them to the back of our car that we're not supposed to drive and drag them a few blocks so it looks like we've been wearing them since the 70s.
i know, immature. i'm just kidding.
we should all strive to be like the smart people: smart, knowledgeable, REALLY nice, really generous, really dedicated to the cause. if i live to be like 80 i will have read 365 political theory books, and i'll try to hang out with the smart people, but i won't fit in because i'll be too old to ride my fixed-turbine hoverbike. i might get one and talk about it, but i'd have to be careful cause i wouldn't wanna come off as a hipster. |

| AN ORGASMIC EXPLOSION OF 9/11 COMPLICITY LOVE JUICE |
[Sep. 12th, 2006|02:40 pm] |
you know when youre working on something and you convince yourself that you have an excuse for procrastinating? ive been doing that for like a year. i've been typing on-and-off an article on 9/11. i only actually worked on the article for about 10 days, and not even very long each day, but i've been copying-and-pasting sources on it for about 10 months, and i always make up some dumb excuse for not taking on it fully and finishing it. well, guess what, im not even gonna finish it. this is basically what it was:
a really long rant (presented as serious discussion) about how nobody listens to me and how people that i have lots of "respect" for laugh at the idea of a 9/11 government conspiracy. especially infuriating is noam chomsky's response to conspiracy claims, considering he's an expert in US foreign policy and, more generally, all the other fucked up things the CIA has ever done. i was like, what the fuck chomsky, i thought of all people you'd be there for me. nope, he was an asshole about it too. everybody, i mean EVERYONE, shrugs off conspiracy claims about as harshly as as conservatives treat the idea of accepted white supremacy. (by that i mean, very harshly.) liberals and conservatives, nazis and communists, hippies and hicks, rich and poor, educated and ignorant, SOS and smart, chomsky and bush....everyone seems to agree on this one idea: "shut up and listen to what bush said. everyone knows the bush administration and the media would never, ever lie about anything."
i was pissed. i was FUCKIN pissed. the rest of the article was going to be articulations of every piece of evidence i could find, which was going to be really fuckin long. i think the reason i hesitated to post it was a combination of being pissed, constantly finding new evidence, fear of getting made fun of by people i know, fear of losing any credibility i might have with anyone who reads my blog (which was silly cause like 2 people read it), and being lazy.
then, recently, Loose Change explodes on the scene (always wanted to say that), my conservative friend surprises me and decides to do his own research and is extremely open minded about it, and turns out to be more on top of it things i am, then Project Censored takes on the subject, presents at the school i go to, lots of people attend, teacher assigns the movie for extra credit, no conservatives complain, AND ALL OF A SUDDEN I FIND MYSELF IN AN ORGASMIC EXPLOSION OF 9/11 COMPLICITY LOVE JUICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEEEESSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!
so, what the back of my mind WANTS to do is post a giant banner that says "NANANANAAAANA, I TOLD YOU SO," but my responsible side wants to slap me in the face for doubting myself and wants to help spread the word. i haven't finished watching loose change, but that seems to be an excellent starting point for anyone interested. you can also check out project censored's page and other shit. if you want, contact me and i'll give you specific information or i can point you to other general information.
oh, and i suppose i should comment on the actual subject matter.....my stance is that i don't know who did it, and i'm sure as hell not listening to what the bush administration tells me. US corporate/military/government powers AND al-queda both have the resources, motivation, and the balls to orchestrate the attacks. it makes the most sense to me that it was a collaboration between the two powers. the evidence shows that it's not likely that it was only the US or only bin laden. keep in mind that i'm NOT definitely making up my mind about anything. all im doing is being open to the evidence, which for whatever reason is a revolutionary act in this situation.
oh, and if you're one of the people who is opposed to the bush administration but thinks that the government would never do anything that evil, it is unlikely that you've read up on the history of the CIA. trust me, they'd do it.

.......and i apologize is anyone is offended by the lively tone. i don't mean to trivialize the tragedy at all. let me know if it offends you so i can do something about it. |

| omg such a cute vintage shop! |
[Aug. 7th, 2006|06:22 pm] |
Imitation of past fashion trends is not a heroic rejection of present day fashion silliness. The same people are getting rich off you. Isn't it funny how corporate outlet stores like Ross and Marshall's have higher quality clothes at lower prices than trendy "vintage shops" that are popping up in SR? Plus, you don't get the infuriatingly pretentious fashion geek atmosphere. A good idea would be selling used clothes that are practical. I don't want to judge the shoppers of these stores any more than everyone else, I just want to point out that regardless of which of the fashion trends one follows, they are still following a fashion trend. |

| don't eat meat??? hahaha, what next, don't breathe? LOL |
[Aug. 5th, 2006|12:01 pm] |
There are many laws of blogging...("laws" in the scientific meaning of the word, not the political...). One of them, of course, is that all bloggers make fun of myspace because "it's just a bunch of dumb emo teenagers. and that web design is so bad! i'm so glad i'm a REAL blogger and not a stupid myspace poser." This law of blogging states that on an average of eight weeks after any blogger posts this rant on their blog, they open a myspace account.
another law is that every blogger says something like "stupid YouTube..it's all the rage now. I'm glad I'm part of the REAL Internet and not the stupid flash movie internet...i'm so smart...." The law states that on an average of 30 days after starting to look at youtube and wishing they could show their friends this hilarious video of a kid falling off his bike, said blogger links to a YouTube video. Now.....I've already had my embarrassing myspace debut...so it's time for the second law to take effect. My first YouTube link.
Yes, that introduction was ridiculously unnecessary but I like to make fun of people including myself.
So, what YouTube video, do you ask, could possibly be relevant to my blog? trust, me, it's relevant.
basically, some kid makes a really, really, bad video making fun of al gore's global warming movie. it's not even college-film-class level. it gets posted on youtube and everybody watches it (because it pops us as a google ad when you search for "al gore" or "global warming"). as expected, it is filled with logical fallacies such as the implication that if something is boring (or if it's not as popular as X-Men 3), it must be wrong. at the end it makes some sarcastic suggestions about what you can do about global warming, and one of them is "stop breathing." .......yes, that is stupid, but get this: the next one is "become a vegetarian." Apparently the phrase "global warming = not eating meat" is as powerful (and true) to conservatives as "global warming = not breathing"
dot dot dot.
so anyways...the wall street journal decides to do some investigative reporting and discovers that the email attached to the YouTube user who posted the video (and takes credit for it) leads back to an office at something called "DCI Group." what is DCI Group, you ask? no, not a small LA flash movie office looking to make the next homestar runner.....it's actually a public relations firm, whose clients include....(get ready to lower your head in disappointment) none other than Exxon Mobil. in other words, oil companies make youtube videos and myspace pages to badmouth al gore's HIPPIE LIBERAL COMMUNIST TOTALITARIAN BULLSHIT SCARE TACTIC PROPAGANDA! hey everybody, this is your neighborhood friendly Exxon Mobil, reminding you to not listen to al gore, because everything he says is propaganda! and propaganda is bad! remember that, propaganda is bad! badmouthing is bad!
dot dot dot.
many people's mental response to this is probably "yeah...so what...corporations have been doing this forever...that's what you need to do to keep your company running...it's just business...you'd do the same thing....plus, al gore's movie IS just stupid communist propaganda." and then i would say, "this isn't a public relations stunt you mindless fucking piece of shit, it's a disinformation campaign. It's a multi billion dollar effort to make you think something that is not true, and make you shrug off something that is very, very true." luckily, internet geeks don't fall for that shit, and posts exactly like this one are going to pop up everywhere now. (probably the daily show....that would be sweet. they always beat me to everything...well...they "post" four times a week, i only post like once a week =/)
i apologize to any radical anarchists who might be reading this who know that this shit goes on every day by every major corporation and are insulted by my possible implication that this is a unique situation. i am not saying this is a unique situation, it's just one that really, really, pisses me off, and it has interesting social implications such as, can corporations keep using internet disinformation, when the internet is largely influenced by liberal computer geeks / bloggers who know what the fuck is up?
i think there should be a required high school course on PR firms.

| fake news / ben / israel |
[Aug. 5th, 2006|02:49 am] |
if you get your news from the major players, and you were confused as to what to make of the current "crisis" in the middle east, i don't blame you.
and in middle east news, (flashy graphic and intense music), the oppressed, legitimate, first-world, modernized democracy in the middle east, also known as Israel, had been responding to terrorist hezbollah VIOLENCE. some say that israel overreacted, (show clip of dumb liberal college professor who uses some hyperbole or logical fallacy)...president bush had this to say:
bush: "violence is bad. peace is good. thank you."
as always, the US supports the good guys... it IS possible that israel is kind of going completely fucking insane, but, if it is, the US has nothing to do with it. so remember....muslim terrorists are cold blooded psychopaths, but US-supported terrorism is just self-defense....even if the whole rest of the world disagrees.
in other news...it turns out that the US shouldn't have invaded iraq after all....but, don't blame us! we reported both sides of the story leading up to the war! it's not our fault!
in sports....some guy is really good at some sport....probably 95% of people in the US listen to music, while a smaller number play sports, but news organizations devote a significant portion of their reporting to fucking sports...instead of another form of entertainment that more people can relate to.
in entertainment news (aside from sports...wait, thats not entertainment, it's a WAY OF LIFE!!), that crazy liberal joker jon stewart is at it again....hahaha, that is such a funny show! that silly jon stewart! i'm glad we don't have to respond to his brilliant criticisms of 24-hour news networks because we can just blow it off as comedy. whew!
OH, AND THAT ONE GUY SAID HE WAS GAY!!!! HOLY SHIT!!!! THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE!! WHO WOULDA THOUGHT A HUMAN BEING WOULD BE GAY!!! WE LIVE IN A CRAZY WORLD!!
now for the weather.....holy shit it's fucking hot! i wonder what could possibly be making it so much hotter than usual! some say it's global warming....but only some...not all....just as many, if not more, say it's just a theory and not fact....and that it hasn't been scientifically proven...and it's just a bunch of brainwashing propaganda. of course, here at our fair and balanced news show, we take both sides into consideration...both the automobile/gasoline/energy corporations (they have a lot at stake here!) AND the liberal side.....because....they have a lot at stake...of course they would talk about global warming...i mean, look how much they have to gain from it....uh....you know....they get bragging rights....and.....uh........you know....all those...liberals....who benefit from going out of their way to help the environment...and change their lives to try to save the world.....they're just doing it for profit....somehow.....it's just all propaganda, they don't care about the earth. we should take both sides into consideration!
just look at it this way...global warming MAY be true (even though it actually is considered fact in the scientific community)....and it MAY not...so it makes sense to blow it off, because if we're wrong, and global warming DOES exist, it's not really a big risk to take is it? just the destruction of our civilization.... so we don't really have to take it seriously.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
enough of that.
please read what my friend ben said:
"because of my big mouth I get asked to be part of surveys by the local daily newspaper a lot.
Todays was a real gem. It was about the "Crisis in the Mid-East". All the questions framed the issue as a religious/cultural conflict between a legitimate and powerful state: Israel, and crazy bomb throwing militants: Hezbollah, and a bumbling incompetent wanna be state: Lebanon; with minor appearances by the shadowy potentially working on being nulearly armed Iran and Syria, my best guess is that neither of those characters will be called on stage until the sequel. In other words it ignored history, reality, economics and politics in favor of a bunch of easily digested fairy tale bullshit.
So in the post survey comments section I wrote this:
The offered policy positions are too limited to truely reflect my thinking. The use of the word "kidnapping" to describe the capture of military forces by military forces is disingenuious. Isreal is a US proxy in the region, the US is the largest funder of the Israeli military (more than Israel itself) and sells more arms to Israel than any other nation. If the US had any problems with Israels actions, Israel would be made to act differently quickly. Isreal has nuclear weapons, and lies about them daily, as does the US. To talk about events in this region as being rooted in thousand year old religious hatred ignores reality. Israel was established at just the historical moment that European imperial powers were retreating after the devastation and expense of World War 2. Israel was established as a mythical never never land promised by god to a people who had nearly been exterminated by a combination of European and American hatred, neglect and complicity with facsism and Nazism. The root of this problem is Israel and the fundamental fact that Israel is a European imperial outpost that hides behind the pain of the holocaust to legitimize itself." |

| fucking long post of random thoughts. |
[Jun. 15th, 2006|01:29 am] |
disorganized thoughts:
according to their logic, there should be no anti-immigrant conservatives using public roads if they don't have a job or otherwise don't pay taxes. if they don't have a job, they shouldn't go to public school or use public medical services because they aren't paying taxes. even if they're kids.
i was reading something immortal technique wrote, and i found one of those moments where you read something that changes your life: it said, "if you were given freedom by the person who enslaved you, can you really know what freedom is and can you ever know if you even have it?" i thought about it all night.
it closely ties in with something i read a while ago that KRS-ONE wrote: how can a slave possibly be freed? it's a contradiction in terms...it's impossible. either slavery never happened, or it's still happening. how can one free a slave? a slave is not granted freedom if they are freed by their master...they are still a "free" slave. if you absolutely hated high school (and, haha, it's funny how everyone forgets how much they hated it...a few years go by and they say, it wasnt that bad, but when they were going through it, they hated it more than anything (that was a long parenthetical statement, so i'll make it obsolete by restating the pre-parenthetical clause))...if someone absolutely hated high school, how can they consider graduation any kind of positive achievement? First of all, what the hell did they achieve that they are so proud of? graduating high school means you did exactly what you were told for 12 years. you managed to memorize all the random facts that the state of california deemed necessary for functioning in a cubicle society. good, who gives a shit. what are you celebrating? they let you out of the cage, you didn't have anything to do with it. you sat there and begged them to let you out, then, when they felt like it, they opened the door. how can you possibly be proud of that? can a slave ever be freed? can freedom be gained by any means other than fighting for it yourself? if a law was enacted that made all high school graduates go back to school for one more year to learn some newly discovered stuff they deemed necessary, some people, probably a lot, would go through the process. so, were they ever freed? were they not only let out for exercise, then had to come back to the cage? if you didn't free yourself, how can you even know if you're really free?
would i be justified in saying that anyone who goes out of their way to go to military school instead of just being a regular infantry guy is an asshole?
is bush religious?
there was an article printed today about the apple computer company mistreating their factory workers and abusing their labor. in the message board topic where it was posted, there were many responses, like,
-eh, life sucks, get over it, that's how capitalism works.
-corporations have the right to maximize their profit. if you think it's unfair, start your own business and out-profit apple.
-these people WANT to work for a few cents an hour. they should be so lucky. apple is doing them a favor.
-HOLY SHIT!!! APPLE DOES THAT!!?? THAT'S FUCKED!!
-how disturbing. i don't think i can keep supporting apple.
-i thought apple were the good guys!
-big deal...i know it sucks and all, but i'm not gonna stop buying apple products just because of that. what? stop lecturing me. it's my money, not yours. (OH GOD, WHEN PEOPLE SAY THIS I FEEL LIKE I COULD PHYSICALLY PUNCH A HOLE THROUGH A BRICK WALL AFTER I TEAR ALL MY HAIR OUT)
-fuck apple!
only two of those make sense to me. (can you figure out which ones? hehehe!)
I'm trying to think back, and i'm surprised to say i've never really bought anything from apple......but it totally seems like i have...maybe i'm forgetting.
i've almost exclusively used apple computers since i began using computers.
but here's how it breaks down: why is anyone surprised? there wouldn't be enough space in newspapers to print a story every time this goes on (but maybe that's a good idea.......). i'm not surprised. most people on the "far left" aren't surprised. it's a natural consequence of the capitalist philosophy. in fact, the more that employees are enslaved, the prouder locke or adam smith or all our high school econ teachers would be. one might respond to that statement with "yeah, but our society has put limits on capitalism to reflect our moral standar--" but they don't finish the sentence because they get hit in the face with a baseball bat which is being held my me. if their moral standards allow people to work for below-living-wages, while the corporation they work for makes billions and deliberately keeps the workers enslaved, then FUCK YOUR CAPITALIST MORAL STANDARDS. as far as im concerned, you don't really have any. you might as well go around finding homeless children in the US and locking them in fishing tanks, making them push buttons on an assembly line. hey, at least they're not homeless! they should be thanking us! we are philanthropists! we also give lots of money to charity! (like 0.01 percent of our money.) oh, and we give money for aids research! when it has been proven that prevention is the most effective way of fighting it! but buying condoms for people in africa is naughty, and a bit more expensive!
let's see...what else............there is no problem with pot. the problem is with pot-HEADS. consider what you're doing when your smoking habit affects other people. i dont have a problem with people smoking pot. in fact, it's probably good to do things that have a slight chance of opening your mind a little and letting you see things or think of things in new and exciting ways. but if you smoke to the point that it affects others, that's kind of fucked up. i respect everyones right to do it, but personally, maybe pot heads should take a little more responsibility and make sure they're not negatively affecting the people around them. or i guess what im saying is, pot heads should be responsible. if the people around them are asshole authority figures, then go ahead and piss them off and zone out. who cares if you don't listen to them, they're dicks. but if you're ditching your friends or missing appointments or making it hard for friend and loved ones to carry a conversation with you, that's kinda messed up.
drinking is hella dumb.
why do people cheer for certain sports teams? the people they're rooting for are arbitrarily hired for their jobs like for any other job, and these people are changing all the time. but fans still cheer for that team, even though the management and the talent of that team might change at any moment, as it had in the past. it's kind of like waving flags of countries....borders are drawn by people who make war. why would you celebrate the area inside these lines? they're just lines. and furthermore, why do people feel proud of the country they're from? they didn't achieve anything to be born there, they just were. i guess there are instances like.....if i was in the US revolutionary war, i would HELLA fly the US flag proudly. damn. or if i fought in the bolshevik revolution, i would fly the "soviet" flag. that shit is something to be proud of. how about people who wave the US flag and have no idea who john adams was, no idea what the federalist papers were, they had nothing to do with the fact that they were born in the US, it was entirely in the hands of their parents, they don't particularly do anything to deserve living in the US......they think dissent is anti-american (i dont know how to better prove that they have no idea what the US even represents)... or people who wave the mexican flag...mexico is run by a bunch of thugs just like any other country, and mexicans are the fuckin racist oppressors of the indigenous people of mexico, some of which have seceded their societies. the flag is cool looking and the symbol comes from an aztec legend, but i would not be proud of representing the country of mexico. maybe i am culturally disconnected and i'm missing something. in fact, i'm pretty sure this is the case.
try this: next time you wanna try to figure somebody out, ask them if they think rap music is music. from their answer, you might be able to tell a lot about who they are.
just kidding.
i dont' know if i've ever explained the name of my blog. viktor frankl was a german jewish psychoanalyst who was sent to the auschwitz concentration camp. he is known for his famous theory of psychological development...that humans exist mainly to find meaning in their lives...or something like that...it's complicated. anyways, while reading his book i found this quote:
"success, like happiness, cannot be pursued; it must ensue, and it only does so as the unintended side effect of one's personal dedication to a cause greater than oneself or as the by-product of one's surrender to a person other than oneself."
i just realized this: this quote ties in to something KRS-ONE said that also had a great effect on me: he said.....well....maybe that's too personal. nevermind. but i think it's important to point out how, if you read a lot of different philosophers, you see common themes in them, even if they themselves don't realize it. I saw a common theme in immortal technique and in krs-one, two very different philosophers (ignorant people will put them under the same umbrella because they're both black rappers.) in a nutshell, tech is about revolution, overthrow, action. krs is about spirituality, personal realization, metaphysics, really interesting shit.
oh shit, here's another thing. most people i know with whom i share similar politics leave absolutely no room for religion. i have trouble with this. i am against the institution of religion. and a good marxist will always recite that religion is the elite's noble lie to control the masses. and i agree. but i find the subject too interesting to dismiss. most leftists say the belief in god is ridiculous, but wouldnt it be equally ridiculous to absolutely positively declare that you know that god doesnt exist? i can pretty much absolutely declare that god definitely isn't who religious humans tell us "he" is, but i can't be sure that another dimension, another world, a higher being doesn't exist. theres just no way i would feel comfortable with myself if i declared such an absolute statement. if there is a god, its probably not a man and definitely not christian and isn't all-good, but that doesnt mean an other-wordly essence does not exist. after all, KRS-ONE, immortal technique, the smartest guy i know from school, my parents, martin luther king, malcolm x, the zapatistas...in other words, a lot of the people i look up to, all believe in god.
here's something i jotted down in my physical journal:
"racism causes whites to assume they MUST be majority in US"
in the immigration debate, on both sides, there seems to be an assumption that if dark skinned people were to become the majority population in the US, it would be a bad thing. why is this assumed? it doesn't say in the constitution that whites have to be the majority. well, it kind of does, but subsequent amendments have refuted that. if mexicans somehow became the majority, then people who identify with them should be their political leaders, and then maybe eventually there will be a majority of dark skinned people in the US. what, if not xenophobia or racism, causes whites to assume this is wrong?
holy fuck, this ended up being long. if you respond to it, make sure to read through it as youre typing because you probably forgot some of it since its so long. haha.

| i'm bored and i don't have anything important to talk about |
[Jun. 10th, 2006|12:29 am] |
man i am fuckin bored. i think everyone is celebrating high school graduations. if they weren't i might be hanging out with them or chatting with them online. now i'm bumpin immortal technique. but i have to stop it once this song is over so i can type. (creation and destruction. SO. FUCKING. ILL. that beat kills.) here's an idea: i'll talk about all the immortal technique songs I like, in the order they happen to be in on my playlist.
"the poverty of philosophy"
sheeeeit. this is the song you show your friend if you wanna change their life and open their mind to radical politics. in fact, it's so important that it's in spoken word format, so it's impossible to just play it in the background as music. basically it's tech's summary of his views on the world, the problems, analysis, solutions....with a cool piano beat behind it.
"creation and destruction"
holy shit, the sinckest beat ever. i feel like i should record this on a cassette and put it in my boombox and walk down the south bronx new york. i can listen to the instrumental for ever. the set up is tech talks about the creation the universe, which he initiated and controlled, and then the rest of it is just about how much of a badass he is. and of course theres political shit intertwined in it, as usual.
"speak your mind"
kind of spoken word, but not really. just dope rhymes that i guess he didnt feel like setting to a beat. my favorite part is how he talks with rhythmic authority, like he's yelling at you.
"industrial revolution"
dope beat. the title is a play on the music "industry." includes the line "you mothafuckas'll never get me to stop blastin / you better off askin ariel sharon for compassion"
"harlem streets"
every emcee has to have a joint about their town. this one just happens to be one of the best ever. it starts off with some brilliant word play shit "harlem streets stay flooded in white powder / like those mothafuckas runnin away from the twin towers" awesome sampled hook, i'm pretty sure thats mcgruff "harlem kids get biz"... HOMICIDE HARLEM / BLAOW WHAT'S THA PROBLEM"
"dominant species"
pure hip hop fire. appealing to the golden age hardcore east coast style. "i'm stuck inside the future / and life is chaotic / the government is psychotically racist and robotic"
"revolutionary"
this is the epic shit you play in the movie scene when a car is speeding through a new york hood. and you see the poor people on the corner look at the car (camera) as it goes by. fucking sick piano sample, with gun cocking incorporated into the actual beat. illest line: "cause when i grab the mic device in front of Christ and start to rip it / i'll make Jesus turn around and say 'yo Pop this nigga flipped it'"
"no mercy"
i just like this one. i like the walking-style beat. it gives him an opportunity for some cool rhythm schemes.
"beef and brocolli"
this is one i don't like. it's an anti-vegetarian song where he is completely missing the point. he doesn't see the possibility of changing your diet as anti-capitalist social protest, he only sees it as strictly a dietary choice. i wonder if it was a response to dead prez, who talk alot about being vegan, (they have a song...what is it...'be healthy' i think).
"dance with the devil"
the immortal technique classic. for whatever reason it's the one that most people have heard. basically shows off his story telling skills. it is supposedly auto-biographical, but i can't tell if he means it literally or not. anyways...the beat sounds like what would be playing if the devil asked you to slow-dance with him.
"the 4th branch"
this one is less abstract and more about current events...kind of. in this track tech adds a fourth branch to the government: the media. my favorite part is the public service announcement at the end.
"the cause of death"
this is some epic shit mostly about the bush administration. even includes 9/11 conspiracy theories. now i can tell people that even immortal technique doesn't think conspiracy theories are stupid. and maybe i'll stop being laughed at =/
"i'll expose george bush and bin laden / as two separate parts of the same seven-headed dragon"
"obnoxious"
a song to make us smile, i guess. i like some of the lines. and i like that he encourages us to download his songs.
well there's that. he played in SF and oakland and for whatever reason i didn't feel inclined enough to go through the process of buying tickets and shit. too complicated. my asshole friend who also saw system of a down didn't even get me a fuckin shirt.
dammit. i'm still bored. yall should listen to immortal technique, grime, dead prez, krs-one, the coup (i really don't like the coup's music, so i don't listen to them. but they talk about the same important shit the others talk about. you might like the music, so go listen!), public enemy........and of course....the greatest band in the world.....RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE....who was signed to a sony label...which has earned me ridicule from my hardcore activist friends.....whose band's website is a myspace page....which makes rupert murdoch richer every time it's visited.....sup ben....coo................
come to think of it, i should talk about every single rage song ever. there's like a 100...hm....dunno....i WAS thinking about posting two of their songs which deal with immigration..."without a face" and "maria." i'll start with some of lyrics and see where it goes from there. here's some from without a face:
Got no card so I got not soul Life is prison, no parole, no control Tha jura got my number on a wire tap 'Cause I jack for similac, fuck a cadillac Survive, one motive no hope 'Cause every sidewalk I walk is like a tightrope Yes I know my deadline sire, it's when my life expires I'm sendin' paper south under tha barbed wire Tha mother of my child will lose her mind at my grave It's my life for their life so call it a free trade "Por vida" and our name up on tha stall I took a death trip when I tried ta cross tha white wall
Yeah, I tried ta look back ta my past long lost A blood donor to the land owner holocaust Pops heart stopped, in came tha air drop Flooded tha trench he couldn't shake tha toxic shock Maize was all we needed ta sustain Now her golden skin burns, insecticide rain Ya down wit DDT yeah you know me Raped for tha grapes, profit for tha bourgeoise
in case you're wondering....'card' referring to citizenship, 'jura' is the police, 'similac' is baby food..."sendin paper south" is giving his money to his family...."down with DDT" is a play on naughty by nature's "down with OPP" which means...."other people's......vagina...."
basically it's a dope song. you should listen to every rage album. the covers album and the last live album aren't as good as the rest, so you don't have to bother with those. oh...and BLACK BOX'S LAST SHOW EVER this sunday at the phoenix. :'( |

| omg maddox i luv u ur soooo funny i h8 niggers n fags |
[May. 14th, 2006|04:16 pm] |
How many times have you heard people complaining about political correctness? Perhaps a conservative whining about the Left's Liberal War On Freedom On Speech 2006, or maybe it's a completely non-political person regurgitating Maddox or Mencia, by saying something like, "I'm not politically correct. But I'm not racist or sexist either. I just hate faggot nigger bitches. Why should I have to be politically correct? I have freedom of speech." Or maybe it's a middle-aged man saying, "I'm not sexist. But you liberal language Nazis want to take away my traditions. I'll slap a woman's ass while she walks by and call her my sexy little girl, and expect her to do whatever I ask her to, but that doesn't mean I think less of her. You are violating my rights if you want me to be PC. Fag."
Look, I respect everyone's freedom of speech to say whatever they want. But that doesn't mean you get to use your privilege to hurt other people's feelings. And it doesn't mean you get to decide that anti-racist or anti-sexist statements are impeding on your rights and are part of some liberal conspiracy to turn you into a hairy lesbian. Sure, you can use the word "nigger," but you would have to admit that it's a racist word. You can say sexist things, but don't expect women to sit there and smile at you while you do it. It's important that people express what they feel. So if you're a racist or sexist piece of shit, go ahead and use your freedom of speech to admit it, instead of pretending like you're an oppressed freedom fighter struggling against the language gestapo.
What if every time you heard someone complain about political correctness, you said to them, "The American troops in Iraq are murderers. They are killing innocent people. They deserve to die, they are not worthy of living. I hate the troops. Every time I watch the news and more American soldiers died, it makes me so happy. Their suffering is my bliss. You know what else? The US deserved 9/11. The people in those buildings were all business men who deserved what they got. Miserable pieces of shit." If they respond with anything other than complete respect for your right to say it, then you don't have any obligation to listen to their ranting.
Go ahead and be racist. But don't complain if people whose feelings are hurt speak up against you. |

[Apr. 18th, 2006|02:11 pm] |
I've been wondering, but now I'm almost completely sure that Cheney was made vice-president so that nobody would try to assasi nate Bush and to ensure that he wouldn't be impeached. Anyone who would want either of those things would prefer Bush as president over Cheney, and maybe that's why he can run around shooting people in the face and doesn't give a shit about it...he's supposed to be the crazy evil genius bad guy. Cheney couldn't have "won" the election because they used Bush's father's name to get him elected. So they put Bush in office, and they knew there would be a huge backlash so they use Cheney to scare away impeachment supporters or lone gunmen. Indeed, many liberals respond to talk of impeachment with "No, we wouldn't want CHENEY to be president!!" It just makes too much sense to not be true.
Evil genius motherfuckers. Very impressive. |

| BLOGWATCH 2006 |
[Feb. 13th, 2006|01:40 pm] |
The Department of Homeland Security and Freedom and All Things Good has concluded its "Cyber Storm" operation, which consisted of fake computer attacks so the government would know if it's ready for an attack by real Hacker™.
And by "Hackers" they actually mean "anti-globalization activists, underground hackers and bloggers." (Apparently these are the only kinds of people who would ever hate freedom enough to want to mess with the government's computers.)
You know what this means don't you? The US Department of Homeland Security ran a global drill exercise in case people like ME ("Bloggers™") get out of hand!! WOO HOO!!! I am so honored.
First of all, grownups don't know anything about computers (And They Never Will.), so the best you (DHS) can hope for is to not piss off geeks enough for them to attack you. Second of all, how 'bout preparing for a hacker attack by Al-Qaeda instead of by "bloggers?" Third of all, I don't know where this article even got that (I didn't find it on the DHS site), but specifically pointing out "anti-globalization activists" almosts seems too ridiculous even for this administration. Fourth of all, I recently decided to stop using the term "blogger." "Oh, she/he's just a blogger. Not a journalist, not a writer, just a blogger. You know, those ranting liberals who don't check their facts." Man, do they still have CNN BLOGWATCH? That was the FUNNIEST shit. "And now, for CNN blogwatch, we go to two young looking people in front of a ultra-modern-looking computer screen." And then the camera moves around all intensely and they say, "Let's see what kinda crazy liberal bullshit is in the Blogosphere today! Oh look, they broke the story about the Bush administration using fake journalists (and/or online male sex workers) in their news conferences. Ha-ha-ha, silly bloggers. Now back to you Tom and Lisa (?), so you can tell us real news."
So in conclusion:
Bloggers = really just online writers (We write more than grownups do -- when's the last time our parents wrote for fun?) Government = scared of online writers, according to this article Media = Scared of real(er) journalists CNN BLOGWATCH = AWESOME Al-Qaeda = Planning full-scale attack on government servers while Department of Homeland Security reads my blog.
This is the article: http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/national/1152AP_Cyber_Storm.html I'm not so sure if the operation really did specify bloggers and anti-globalization activists, because I couldn't find that information anywhere else (and it just seems way too silly). If it didn't, I got my point acorss anyway.
If the article expires or something, you should be able to find it elsewhere by searching for "cyber storm associated press" or something like that. |

| STRUGGLE? WHAT WOULD YOU KNOW ABOUT STRUGGLE, MY FATHER SERVED IN...... |
[Jan. 27th, 2006|02:58 am] |
I wish I had a t-shirt with a huge hammer-and-sickle on it. And I'd be standing in line at the grocery store, and some old guy would see it and shake his head. And I'd say, "what's up?" and he'd say, "Your shirt. Do you know what that is?" And I'd be like, ummmmmm YUH. Then he'd say something about how that offends him and if I knew anything about history then it would offend me too. Then I'd say, "why?" and he'd explain that Joseph Stalin murdered 20 million of his own people, (he would emphasize that part, as if it was the important part of the sentence) and then I'd be like, well to me it represents the industrial and agricultural working class of early 20th century Russia, and the Marxist revolution that overthrew the asshole ruling class. And he'd be like....uh............20 million.......OF HIS OWN PEOPLE! and I'd be like, true, I do think that's wrong. But I'm not wearing this shirt to represent Stalin, as I've explained. Then he'd either freak out and get hellla pissed or he'd say something like "well it still offends me, I don't think people should be wearing things like that." And then, it would be perfect if he was wearing an USAmerican flag t-shirt, but if he wasn't, I'd say something like, "do you think people should be wearing t-shirts with American flags on them?" And he'd be like, "well sure, that doesn't offend anybody." And I'd be like, "I could easily say that it offends me. That flag might offend anyone whose lives have been destroyed by the actions of the US government. Women, poor people, people of color, people with non-traditional sexualities, young people, and anyone who might've been bombed by one of the thousands of US air strikes all over the world throughout history. The flag could represent a country that committed genocide as a way of introducing itself to the world. It could represent the first country in history to create institutionalized slavery based on skin color, it could represent a country that boasts being the freest, greatest country on earth, while outlawing women's suffrage until very recently, the only country on earth to ever use atomic bombs on civilian populations, the only "Western democracy," or "Industrialized" or "civilized" nation to still have the death penalty and consider health care, food, and education priviliges instead of fundamental human rights, a country that is generally known around the world (but not to its residents) for its unconditional greed and hypocrisy, which was displayed brutally by the (baseless) war it waged on Northern Vietnam, in the name of stopping dictatorial regimes, but really in blatant fear of socialism, an idea which would put the rich/capitalist/elite class somewhere other than the top of the world, a country that is now sending soldiers to die for a pack of lies (and it doesn't really matter if you've lived in a bomb shelter for the past few years and still don't know that the rationale for war was a pack of lies, it only matters if the soldiers think so....a soldier who is against the war and is sent to fight it is being sent to fight a war which he thinks is based on a pack of lies), and punishes those who have the courage to disobey orders which contradict their moral conscience...."
And he'd be like, hahahahahahah, shut up you dumb terrorist. Go hug a tree or something. Or maybe not, who knows. Maybe he'd change his mind and concede that I can wear my communist shirt if he can wear an "American" flag shirt.
Should people have the right to walk around high schools with displays of the Confederate flag? Should government buildings display the flag alongside its local flag and the US flag? By my aforementioned logic, yes, technically they should have the right.
So..now....I could end the post here and be satisfied that everything I've said is true........
BUT
I'm not gonna let Southern racists get away that easy, so check this out: What percentage of people who wear Confederate flag would you say are racists? C'mon...be honest now......nope....higher...c'mon....there we go......pretty high right? Or do you want me to be more fair? I would say 100%, but for the sake of fairness let's say 60%, as a conservative estimate. We would consider at least 60 percent of people who wear the Confederate flag to be racists, while the other 40 percent do it out of pride in their heritage or because they don't know what it means or because that's just the only shirt they had that day.
What percentage of people who wear a hammer and sickle want to kill 20,000,000 people? |

you know when you bump some ill shit, and you go, "this music is fulfilling, it gives my life meaning because i can relate to it. and the fact that i am listening to it makes me an individual," and you are filled with a false sense of hope, and you're vibin to it, and you look over at a newspaper on the table that says this http://www.workingforchange.com/blog/index.cfm?mode=entry&entry=252E5651-010F-04BF-A451F308177CACA9 and you go "hm," then turn back and keep vibin, and you feel that you have life figured out, and you can't wait to see your friends, because you seem to have inherited (from who?) a ridiculous complex philosophical life-concept which goes something like this: life is short, live it to the fullest everyday, what's the point of life if you don't have fun?, a concept that should perhaps cause you to question your assumptions when you see homeless people and you don't see them smiling and laughing, but does not, and you never know why your life feels so empty at times, and you never know that your life feels empty, but you might feel it, and when your life is not empty and you don't know it because you don't feel it, when you hate the bush administration so much that you don't understand why, and good for that guy over there, he's doing his thing, being against the government and all, even tho sometimes hippys can be fagz, and we all hate women, and we all hate feminists, and we all want women, and everyone is sexist, everyone is a sexist, can't fucking stand it, and everyone is racist, but let's not talk about that, racism isn't the issue, classism is, fuck you, try not being white and saying that, and we all hate women, and revolution is giving women machine guns, so we all get what we deserve, and it's cool and hip to hate feminists cuz there crazy and they want to blame everything on guyz, 'CAUSE GUYS ARE THE CAUSE OF THEIR PROBLEMS IDIOT, and maybe some day you decide you want to inform people about things they might not see on the mainstream media, but people just giggle at you and post middle-school-level-of-cleverness anonymous criticisms, and they just look at your blog so they can giggle at it, and corporations are children, and we care for them and nourish them, and feed them, and you close your eyes and imagine that The System is a giant central post-apocalyptic self-conscious metal robotic machine, and that when there is a problem in the program it moves a mechanical arm and fixes the problem, and you're one of the problems, but you're hiding near it with your laptop, which is actually a really big gun, i was trying to come up with the name of a really big gun but i don't really know any except for the ones in video games, or maybe you have a screwdriver and you're unscrewing one screw from the Machine all your life, and orwell wrote that fucking book for a reason, and everyone reads that fuckin book and nobody seems to connect the dots, hm, check it out, the government in the book is doing all these crazy things...........................wait, bush just did something crazy..................... (and your brain ALMOST connects two little tiny dots and then you're distracted) oh look pretzels mmmmm., and when you read or listen to socialist rhetoric and it inspires you and sounds really cool but doesn't get you anywhere, when you can't get mad at your friends because you know that you used to be the same way,
when you're bumpin that shit and you don't know why you feel like turning off the music and thinking for a second, even a tiny little fraction of a second, on which you may use a calculator to divide and obtain the equivalent value in percentile, a section, if you will, of a second....... for that amount of time you are that much closer to dethroning god and destroying capitalism, |
